Day 1: Errachidia – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
Your 3 Days Tour from Errachidia to desert and Marrakech begins with a pickup from Moulay Ali Cherif Airport or your accommodation in Errachidia. We head south along the stunning Ziz Valley, stopping at panoramic viewpoints for photos of the lush palm oasis. Our journey continues through Erfoud, the “Capital of Fossils,” where you can visit a local workshop to see ancient mineral crafts. Upon reaching Merzouga, you will mount a camel for a 90-minute trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes to catch a breathtaking sunset. The evening concludes at a desert camp with a traditional dinner, Berber drumming, and a night under a blanket of stars.
Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani Market – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Wake up early to witness a spectacular Sahara sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, you will return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4. We then visit the lively Rissani market, the traditional foundation of the ruling dynasty and an ancient caravan hub. The tour proceeds to the Todra Gorges, where you can take a leisurely walk through the towering orange limestone cliffs. In the afternoon, we drive into the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades to see the famous “monkey fingers” rock formations. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a local hotel or Riad overlooking the valley.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
On the final day, we travel through the Rose Valley (Kalaat M’Gouna), known for its Damascus roses and annual festival. We stop in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” to visit the Atlas Film Studios and Taourirt Kasbah. Next, we explore the majestic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a fortified village that has served as a backdrop for numerous Hollywood blockbusters. After lunch, we ascend the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, enjoying winding roads and views of authentic Berber villages. Your adventure concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or the airport in Marrakech in the evening.
