2 Days / 1 Night
The 2 Days Tour from Errachidia to Merzouga desert is the perfect choice for travelers landing at Errachidia Airport (ERH) or arriving by bus who want to experience the Sahara’s magic on a tight schedule. This journey takes you through the lush Ziz Valley and historic desert towns to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will enjoy an authentic desert adventure featuring camel trekking, a night under the stars in a traditional or luxury camp, and a deep dive into Berber culture and nomadic lifestyles.
Your adventure begins at 9:00 AM with a pickup from your hotel or the airport in Errachidia. The drive south features a stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Ziz Valley, home to Morocco’s second-largest palm grove. We then continue to Erfoud, famous for its ancient fossils and date festival, where you can visit a local craft workshop. By late afternoon, you will reach the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you will mount your camel for a 1.5-hour trek into the heart of the Sahara. After watching the sunset from a high dune, you will arrive at your desert camp. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, followed by Berber drumming around a campfire under a star-filled sky.
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the sand dunes. After breakfast at the camp, you will return to Merzouga via camel or 4×4. The morning is dedicated to exploring the desert region in a 4×4 vehicle. Highlights include visiting Nomad families in their tents and listening to the rhythmic Gnawa music in Khamlia village. The return journey to Errachidia includes a stop in Rissani to explore its vibrant weekly market (if your visit falls on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday). After a relaxed lunch stop, you will be transferred back to your hotel or the Errachidia airport in the afternoon, concluding your 2 Days Tour from Errachidia to Merzouga desert.
